So, Who Are We?

96.9 WYIR The Wire is a Non-Profit (501c3)  Low Power FM Station that is licensed in Baugh City, Indiana with coverage that includes the Metro-Evansville area.  Owned and operated by Youth Incorporated, The Wire’s Mission is to effectively communicate the Gospel message in  the region of Southern Indiana particularly the city of Evansville, to those who do not know or fully understand it, through full-time Alternative Christian Rock music as well as educational elements over radio, the Internet and other mass media – using modern day language and the highest professional standards.

What Does That Mean?

Basically it means we’re a local Christian radio station that wants to play rock music and talk about Jesus in ways that’s authentic and real….It’s why we’re called “The REAL Alternative”.
