Contests
Current Contests
General rules for all contests and promotions broadcast on The Wire Radio
Note: Individual contests may have their own special qualifications and eligibility rules.
- The Wire contests are open to all Wire listeners in the United States, unless a specific age is required due to the type of contest, participating agency or advertiser or by law.
- Only one person per family may qualify or win a Wire contest within a 30 day period.
- All Wire contest winners agree to allow The Wire to use their name or likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation and may be required to sign a release. All calls to The Wire are taped and may be aired on The Wire without further permission.
- The Wire is not responsible for problems occurring within the telephone system which either inhibit or increase the chances of winning a phone-in contest. If two or more phone lines are “tied together” during a phone-in contest, all callers are disqualified and another call will be taken. The Wire does not award duplicate prizes to all parties in a “tied together” situation. In case of telephone line malfunction, the decision of The Wire is final.
- Due to Internet delays beyond our control, The Wire’s online stream may be delayed at times which can cause difficulty in participating in on-air contests. Online listening delays may vary depending on your Internet connection.
- Employees and agents of Youth Inc. and their families, advertising agencies or representatives are ineligible to enter Wire contests.
- Winners may not request substitution or other consideration from the originally awarded prize. The Wire is not responsible for any delays in receipt of prizes caused by the postal system.
- Prizes are non-transferable; except for concert tickets placed at will call. Prizes have no cash value, expressed or implied.
- The Wire reserves the right to revoke prizes if the winner does not meet any or all eligibility requirements, even though an announcement has been made on the air indicating that person was the winner.
- The Wire may, due to the unavailability of prizes awarded, substitute another prize of equal or greater value for the prize originally won. The Wire is not responsible or liable for prizes awarded to an event that is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control.
- With respect to any disputes regarding contests, the decision of The Wire is final.
- The Wire, its agency and representatives shall not be liable for any claim, injury or damage from any contest or prize awarded in a contest.
- All contest entries become the property of The Wire. The Wire may withhold any or all contest entry materials for any reason station management deems crucial to the completion of the contest or for reasons relating to publicity or advertising.
- Unless otherwise stated, multiple entries by the same person will be discarded and may be deemed cause for disqualification.
- All rules are subject to change without notice.
- Contest winners may be required to present a form of identification to claim prize(s) within time period specified by The Wire. The Wire reserves the right to pick an alternate winner if these conditions are not satisfied. Prizes may not be transferred or substituted for other prizes except at the discretion of The Wire.
